Young girl airlifted after fall from window (Elanora Heights)
A CareFlight trauma doctor teamed with ambulance paramedics to treat a young girl who fell from a first-floor window at a house in Elanora Heights, in Sydney's north, today.
The helicopter landed in a small park close to the Dewrang Avenue home following a call from an ambulance shortly before 1 pm.
The CareFlight doctor said the three-year-old girl suffered head injuries when she fell through a flyscreen at an open window onto an awning and then to the ground.
In a pre-hospital start to intensive care treatment, the doctor placed the girl in an induced coma, on a ventilator to control her breathing.
The girl was flown by CareFlight to the Children's Hospital at Westmead where she remained in a serious but stable condition on arrival.
Ambulance and CareFlight place the injured girl onboard CareFlight at Elanora Heights.
